Description:
Top 50 art teachers from the public sector were training to be the trainers for the new art curriculum under the ministry of education. The weeklong experience covered topics such as contemporary art, conceptual art, and beyond. They ended up producing their own art pieces from whatever materials in their surroundings. Then we debrief the experience and did an exhibition showcasing the results/final artworks.
Goal:
To reform the art education curriculum with Abdulatif Jameel and Ministry of Education.
Outcome:
Teachers and art educators & supervisors had important discussions on the evolution of art within Saudi and the region. Teachers left with new resources and gained perspectives. They created a community to support one another as their journey unfolded as leaders in their own schools and professional circles.
